The 2016 season is fast approaching and as student athletes and parents prepare for the fall golf season we want to invite all student athletes planning on trying out for the 2016 Dublin Jerome Celtics to attend a mandatory spring meeting Wednesday, May 4th at Jerome in the library at 6:00 pm. This meeting will cover tryouts and student athlete expectations, along with important booster information regarding the 2016 golf season.

2015 Season Highlights

2015 State Runner-Up

The Celtics capped off a record breaking season finishing Runner-Up at the 2015 State Championship at OSU Scarlet on October 23 & 24. The Celtics fired a day two low score of 305 but the ralley fell short of St. Xavier and overcomming their 13 shot lead that they carried into day 2 from day 1. The Celtics still have a great deal to celebrate breaking two Jerome School records. First the team low tournament score of 8 under par as a team at Pinnacle CC for the UA Invitational. The previous record was 5 under par as a team. The second record is the season record of 283-4, which is the best season record on file at Jerome. All 5 players earned numerous honors for the season. Cam Root earned 1st team All-OCC, 2nd team All-District, 1st team All-Ohio, and was Jerome athlete of the week. Adam Stephens earned 1st team All-OCC, 2nd team All-District, 2nd team All-Ohio, and was the Dispatch athlete of the week. Cam Solomon earned 2nd team All-OCC and 2nd team All-District honors. Grant Lewis also earned 2nd team All-OCC and 2nd team All-District honors. Jack Herceg rounds out the team earning 1st team All-OCC, 1st team All-District, and JJ Huddle athlete of the week honors. Awesome season gentlemen!!!! It is good to be a CELTIC!!!!

Thank you to all the current players, current parents, alumni players, and alumni parents who came out to Scarlet to cheer on the boys, I know it made a huge difference for the guys!!!! The work for the 2016 season begins now, it will be a difficult task to fill the shows of our seniors who are graduating!! Let's continue to work hard, and stay positive and GO CELTS!!!!

2015 District Champions!!

The Cetls win the Central District Championship in convincing fashion with a team score of 293 to edge out 2nd place Olentangy Liberty by 13 shots. The team was led by Jack Herceg who posted an even par 72. Cam Root and Cam Solomon played fantastic rounds carding a pair of 1 over par 73's. Adam Stephens posted a strong 75 and Grant Lewis added a 76!! An awesome team victory, solidifying Jerome's advancement to the State Championship at OSU Scarlet course on 10/23 and 10/24!! This is Jerome's 3rd District title in the last 5 years and will make Jerome's 4th state appearance in the last 5 years. The Celtic's will tee off on hole #1 at Scarlet at 9:00 am on Thursday, the 24th. Please come out and support the guys as they look to achieve the 4th and final team goal of the season!! 

JV Team

During the Centerville JV Invitational at Yankee Trace GC on Monday 9/28 the JV team finished 2nd place in the 16 team field with a team score of 321. Nick Karlik posted a team low of 79, followed by Brian Wheeler and JT McKibben who both carded a pair of 80's and Mason Wagner rounded out the team score with an 81. Great finish boys!!!

The JV team continues to dominate their opponents winning both of their matches this past week. Firing a team score of 165 at Little Turtle CC and a team score of 154 at TCC. The team score of 154 for the Celts is the JV low team score for the season. Awesome job boys and congratulations to Nick Karlik for earning medalist honors in both matches posting 36's at both venues!! 

At the Olentangy Invitational at Oakhaven GC the JV team fired a team score of 326 to clinch 1st place honors in the 21 team field. Nick Karlik was medalist with a 77, Mason Wagner and JT McKibben both carded a pair of 82's and Tommy Neal rounded out the team score with an 85! That brings the JV team record to 110-16! 

The JV team has been on a role clinching wins against Olentangy and Olentangy Liberty at Kinsale and Golf Club of Dublin. Tommy Neal was medalist at GCOD with an even par 36! Nick Karlik has added solid play for the celts with a 38 at Kinsale CC and 40 at GCOD. Mason Wagner continues his strong play carding 40 at Kinsale and 44 at GCOD. Liam Millen fired 39 at Kinsale CC and Ben Virant rounded out the scores at Kinsale CC with 41. The celtics fired a team score of 158 at Kinsale and 160 at GCOD. That brings the JV celts record to 90-16 and their 9 hole scoring team average of 162.9! Way to go gentlemen!!

The JV team won their dual match against New Albany at New Albany CC. Play was led by medalist Liam Millen who carded a 37!! Brain Wheeler and Tommy Neal both posted 41's and JT McKibben rounded out the team score with a 43. Keep up the good work!!!

The JV team clinched "The Future's Championship" at Clover Valley with a team score of 320. Taking the JV team record to 72-12! Ben Virant added his first medalist honors to the stat sheet posting a team low 73! Brian Wheeler carded a 79 continuing his strong play. Liam Millen added an 83 and JT McKibben rounded out the Celts team score with an 85! Way to Go Celts!!

The Future's Champs


The JV team has hit a winning stride winning both the Granville Invitational at Granville GC and the Mt. Vernon Invitational at Hiawatha GC, going 33-0 in their last two invitationals. Play was led by Tommy Neal who was medalist runner-up at Granville with a 79 and carded a 78 at Hiawatha. Brian Wheeler has continued his strong play with an 83 at Granville and carding a 78 at Hiawatha. Ben Virant posted 83 at Granville and 84 at Hiawatha and Mason Wagner rounded out the team score at Granville with an 83 and JT McKibben rounded out the team score at Hiawatha with an 82. Incredible job boys!! Keep it up!!


JV Team Granville Invitational Champs


Varsity Gold Team

The St. Charles Invitational at Pinnacle CC on Saturday proved to be a tough test and one that the Celtics found themselves in first place when dark settle on the course. The team score of 315 gave the Celtics a 13 shot cushion between them and 2nd place Lakota East from Cincinnati. Play was led by medalist-runner-up Blake Solomon who posted a 76. Dean Watkins posted an impressive round of 77, followed by Davis Root and Jackson Chandler who carded 80 and 82 respectively. Awesome win boys!!

The Varsity Gold fired an impressive 160 at Scioto CC on Tuesday. A great score on a challenging golf course!! Jackson Chandler was low for the Celts with a 38. Dean Watkins and Davis Root both posted 39's and the team score was rounded out by Miles Miller who carded a 44. Really great score at Scioto CC!

At the Findlay Trojan Invitational at Findlay CC the Gold team finished 4th with team of score of 325. Play was led by Blake Solomon who was medalist runner-up with a 74. Davis Root posted 81, Dean Watkins 84, Jackson Chandler rounded out the team score with 86. Way to go on a very difficult golf course in tough conditions!!

Varsity Gold fired a team low score of 139, 5 under par as a team at Golf Club of Dublin against Olentangy Liberty defeating Liberty by 22 shots! Medalist was Blake Solomon who carded a 33!! Miles Miller and Jackson Chandler both posted 35's and Davis Root rounded out the team score with a 36. Awesome job boys!!! Varsity Gold team record is at 112-11 with a team 9 hole average of 154.6!!

The Varsity Gold team clinched their first team championship at Mt. Vernon's invitational at Hiawatha GC. Play was led by Davis Root and Chris Dearth who both posted 74's. Dean Watkins carded a 79 and Jackson Chandler rounded out the team score with an 82. Incredible work gentlemen!!!

The Mt. Vernon Invitational Champs


The Varsity Gold team has had their best finishes of the season with a runner-up finish at the Celtic Challenge and a 1st place finish over Coffman by 13 shots at their dual match at Clover Valley. Play has been led by Jackson Chandler who was low at the Celtic Challenge with a 75 and fired a 39 at Clover Valley. Blake Solomon and Davis Root both carded 76's at the Celtic Challenge and 38's at Clover Valley and continue to push each other for the top spot on the Varsity Gold Team. Chris Dearth rounded out the team scores at the Celtic Challenge with a 79 and Dean Watkins rounded out the team score at Clover Valley with a 42. Aweosme play gentleman, continue to Work Hard and Stay Positive!!

Varsity Green Team

The Celtics have now won an incredible 12 straight invitationals. The Varsity Green team shot a team score of 291 to win the Bishop Watterson Invitational by 18 shots. Cam Root was medalist for the tournament with a 2 under par, 70. Grant Lewis posted an even par 72 and Jack Herceg carded a 1 over par, 73. Adam Stephens and Cam Solomon both posted 76's to round out the team scoring. That brings the Celts record to 232-3!! Awesome job gentlemen!!! GO CELTS!!

At Upper Arlington's Invitational at Scioto CC the Green team took 1st place honors with a team score of 296 defeating the 12 team field! The course was tough and the conditions tougher and all 5 men hung tough and played great to shoot the lowest team score at Scioto CC!! Grant Lewis was medalist with a 1-under par 70! Awesome job Grant!! Cam Solomon followed with a 74 and earned medalist runner-up honors!! Cam Root, Jack Herceg, and Adam Stephens all posted 76's to round out the team score of 296!! 

The Celtics will be playing Darby Creek for the Sectional Championship this year. Please come out and support the boys on October 6th at 8:30 am for the 2015 Sectional Championship!! Go Celts!

Varsity Green successfully accomplished it's first team goal of the season winning the Cardinal Division of the Ohio Capital Conference, and they did it in fine fashion. The Celts finished 28-0 in league play clinching the 12th consecutive league title! The Green team fired a 282 to win by 34 shots!! Play was led by Cam Root who posted a 4-under, 68, followed by Adam Stephens and Jack Herceg who both carded a pair of 71's! Grant Lewis rounded out the team score with an even par 72 and Cam Solomon posted a solid 75. That brings the Green team's record to 198-3 and a 9-hole scoring average of 146.5!! Keep working hard, and staying positive!!!

2015 OCC Cardinal Division Champions

9 straight tournament wins for the Varsity Green team with an impressive win at the Wooster Invitational at Wooster CC on Monday 9/14/2015. Adam Stephens fired a 4 under par 68 to earn medalist honors in the 26 team field. The Celtics posted a team score of 297 to win the tournament by 6 shots over Olentangy Liberty who finished 2nd with 303. Cam Root continues his strong play with a 75 and Grant Lewis and Cam Solomon grinded out a pair of 77's. Awesome job and keep getting better everyday as we peak our performance for the post season!!!

Varsity Green fired a team score of 301 at Apple Valley in the third round of the OCC Cardinal Division winning by 12 shots. The Celtics record in the OCC is now 21-0 and they look to capture Jerome's 12th consecutive league title at Darby Creek GC on September 16th. Play was led by Jack Herceg who posted a 74, Cam Solomon fired 75, Grant Lewis and Cam Root both carded 76's and Adam Stephens rounded out the team with a 77. Keep focused and working towards accomplishing our first team goal of winning the OCC!!!

The Varsity Green team continues to prove that they are one of the top teams in the state!! At the Pinnacle Invitational on Saturday the Celts fired a 280, an 8 under par team score and added themselves to the Jerome record books with the lowest team score in Jerome history!! Jack Herceg was medalist with a 66 receiving his 2nd medalist honors of the season.  Adam Stephens and Grant Lewis both posted 71's, Cam Solomon fired a 72 and Cam Root rounded out the team score with a 75!! Unbelievable job!!! 

Pinnacle Invitational Champions

The Celts also clinched the Muirfield Village Invitational with a team score of 288!! Jack Herceg picked up his third medalist honors with a solid 70. Adam Stephens received medalist runner-up honors with a 71. Cam Solomon continues his strong play with a 72 and Cam Root rounded out the team score with a 75!! It was an awesome experience for the guys!!

Muirfield Village Golf Club Champions!

The Varsity Green team added to the Celtics invitational sweeping, Saturday, capturing Cincinnati Moeller's invitational at Walden Ponds GC. Jack Herceg earned his first medalist honors carding a 4 under par 68!! Awesome job Jack!!! That makes all Varsity Green players carding a competitive round in the 60's and also marks all five players winning medalist honors at 5 different invitationals. That is truely remarkable!!! Cam Solomon backed up his teammate with a 72 and Blake Solomon played his first Varsity A tournament and posted an impressive 75!! Great job Blake!! Adam Stephens rounded out the team score with a hard fought 76. Grant Lewis grinded his way to a 77 after a tough start and Cam Root posted a 78. It was a great team victory!!

Moeller Invitational Champs

The Varsity Green team moved to 14-0 in the Cardinal Division of the OCC with a team score of 293 at Clover Valley on 8/17/2015. Cam Root was medalist with a 3 under par 69 and Adam Stephens was medalist runner-up with a 1 under par 71. Jack Herceg posted a 74, Cam Solomon and Grant Lewis both carded a pair of 79's to round out the team scores. Keep it up boys!!

The Varsity Green team played a brutally hard Blue Ash GC and hung tough posting a team score of 303 to capture the team champions award by 14 shots. Cam Solomon was medalist with a score of 73 winning medalist honors after a 1 hole play-off. Way to go Sully!! Adam Stephens fired a 76, followed by Grant Lewis and Davis Root in his first Varsity A event with a pair of 77's to round out the team score. Varsity Green's record moved to 92-3 over the first 6 invitationals. Keep up the awesome team play gentlemen!! Second round of OCC play is on Monday at Clover Valley, where Jerome looks to go 14-0 in the Cardinal Division of the OCC.
