The Fun Scramble is fast approaching this Sunday 9/25 at TCC. We are excited to get Jerome Men's and Women's teams and Grizzel and Karrer 8th graders together to have some fun building relationships through golf. 2016 DJHS Men's Golf Team 

Congratulations to all 19 young men that made the 2016 DJHS Men's Golf Team. The first competition begins Monday and we are looking forward to a fantastic year for all three teams. Thank you again to all the parent volunteers and the alumni players for their time in helping make sure tryouts ran smooth. 

Varsity Green Team 

The 2016 Jerome Golf season is off to a strong start with both the Varsity Green team and Varsity Gold team capturing victories in the first invitationals of the season. The Green team posted a team score of 287, 1 under par at Yankee Trace GC for the Centerville Invitational. Blake Solomon carded a 4 under par 68 to earn medalisty honors and lead the team effort. Jackson Chandler followed with a 1 under par 71. Davis Root fired a 1 over par 73 and Will Birkholz posted a 3 over 75 to round out the team score. Jack Herceg battled for a 4 over 76. Awesome win and great start to the season!!!! Tomorrow the Green team will begin their quest to capture a 13 consecutive OCC title with their first OCC event at Darby Creek GC. 

Centerville Invitational Champions

Varsity Green had an interesting weekend. The St. Charles invitational was rained out with only playing 10 holes before the heavens opened up. The Gillmore Academy invite brought better weather and a difficult Folwer's Mill GC for the Celtics. The guys finished with a team score of 310 to finish runner up behind NDCL. Play was led by Blake Solomon who posted a 76, followed by Jack Herceg with a 77. Davis Root added to the team score with a 78 and Jackson Chandler rounded out the team score with a 79. Strong Runner-up finish!!

The Wooster Invitational was another great weather day where the Celtics shot a team score of 293 to better the 24 team field by 8 strokes. Ashland and Olentangy Liberty finihsed tied for second with 301. Jack Herceg was medalist with a 4 under par 68 followed by Jackson Chandler who posted a 73. Blake Solomon followed with a solid 75 and Davis Root rounded out the team score with a 77! Big win for the Celtics!!! Let's use this as a spring board heading into the second half of September. GO CELTS!!!

2016 Wooster General Invitational Champions

The Green team captured its first team goal of the 2016 season winning the Cardinal Division of the OCC for the 13th consecutive year. The last OCC for the Cardinal Division was at Apple Valley GC and play was led by Jack Herceg and Will Birkholz who both posted a pair of 1 under par 71's, followed by Davis Root  carding a 1 over par 73. Blake Solomon rounded out the team score of 290 with a 75 and Jackson Chandler finished with a 78. The 290 score had the Celtics finish 24-0 in the OCC Cardinal Division. Jack Herceg, Blake Solomon, Jackson Chandler, and Will Birkholz all received 1st team All-OCC honors and Davis Root earned 2nd team All-OCC honors. Awesome job men!!!! Lets keep this momentum going into our post season run!!!!

2016 OCC Cardinal Division Champions!!!

The Green team took down a 30 year tournament record firing a 299 at the Findlay Trojan Invitational at Findlay CC on Saturday. The team was led by Jack Herceg and Jackson Chandler who both posted a pair of 1 over par 73's. Blake Solomon carded a solid 3 over 75 and Jon Forbes helped the team break the tournament record of 300 with a 299 by posting a 78 to round out the team score!! David Haimbaugh fought hard to post an 81! Awesome Day for the Seniors, Awesome win for Jerome!!! 

Findlay Trojan Invitational Champions

Varsity Gold Team 

The Varsity Gold team dominated the North Union Invitational at Glenross GC winning by an impressive 18 strokes with a team score of 290. Jon Forbes earned medalist honors winning a 2 hole playoff over Liam Millen who earned medalist runner-up honors. Both Jon and Liam posted 71's to get in the playoff for 1st place. Nick Karlik carded and even par 72, followed by David Haimbaugh with a 76 and Miles Miller rounded out the scores with a 78. Fantastic start to the season. Gold will play the Oakwood Invitational tomorrow at Dayton CC, keep up the awesome play!!!!

North Union Invitational Champions

Varsity Gold team added to their winning streak with a team score of 305 to capture the Celtic Challenge Title. Playe was led by Nick Karlik who was medalist runner-up with a 74. Liam Millen carded a 76 followed by David Haimbaugh posting a 77. Miles Miller rounded out the team score with a 78 and Ethan Snyder began his season with a solid start posting a 79. Awesome win gentleman!!! 

Gold team placed 4th at the Oakwood Invitational at Dayton CC on 8/9. Ethan Snyder led the team with a 74 followed by Nick Karlik posting a 76. David Haimbaugh carded a 78. Liam Millen rounded out the team score with an 81. 

The Gold team continues its strong play finishing 5th in the New Albany invitational with a team score of 311. Nick Karlik has continued his solid play posting a 75 and David Haimbaugh continues to put up great scores for the team with a 76. Mason Wagner making his first tournament of the season carded a 79 and Jon Forbes rounded out the team score with an 81. Really great finish in a strong field of Varsity teams from central Ohio!! Great job boys, way to represent!!

The Gold team has had some unfortunate weather issues with two matches being rained out. They finally were able to get in a complete round at the Dublin Invitational at Golf Club of Dublin with a team score of 316 to take 5th in the 17 team field. It was a strong field with windy conditions and the team 5th place finish is very respectable. Play was led with Liam Millen who fired a 76 followed by David Haimbaugh with a 78. Nick Karlik posted a 79 to help the team and Jon Forbes rounded out the team score with an 83. Miles Miller grinded for an 86. Keep up the strong play boys!!!

Varsity Gold edged out Olentangy Liberty at Tartan Fields with a team score of 161. Play was led by Jon Forbes with a 37 which earned him medalist honors. Liam Millen posted a 40, followed by Nick Karlik, Mason Wagner, and Ethan Snyder all carding 42's to round out the team score. Way to go Celts!!! The Gold team will face Dublin Coffman at Darby Creek on 8/25!

The Gold team fired a great team score of 153 at Tartan Fields CC on 8/30/2016 to beat Upper Arlington. That improves Gold team record to 73-11 on the season. Play was led by David Haimbaugh who posted a 37, followed by Nick Karlik and Ethan Snyder who both carded 38's. Liam Millen rounded out the team score with a 40. Great job Gold keep it going!!!

Varsity Gold takes home another team victory in the Pickerington North Invite at Pine Hill. A tough course provided Jerome with the winning score of 319 edging out Dublin Scioto and Grove City by 4 strokes. Play was led by Liam Millen who posted a 77, followed by Mason Wagner with a 79. David Haimbaugh carded an 80 and Jon Forbes rounded out the team score with an 83. Great win boys!!

Pickerington North Invitational Champions

The Gold team fired a team score of 151 at Tartan Fields to beat Dublin Coffman in a dual match. Play was led by Nick Karlik who was medalist with a 2 under 34. David Haimbaugh continues his solid play with a 37. Mason Wagner added to the team score with a 39 and Jon Forbes rounded out the team score with a 41. Great 9 hole team score gentleman!!!

The Gold team finished 3rd at the Cardinal Invitational at Pinnacle CC on Saturday. The team score of 327 was led by Nick Karlik who posted an 80, followed by Miles Miller with an 81. Mason Wagner and Ethan Snyder rounded out the team score with a pair of 83's. The Gold team will play Pinnacle again this Tuesday 9/20, come out and support the boys. 

JV Team 

The JV team began their season with a respectable 7th place finish out of the 20 team field at the St. Charles Invitational. Team play was led by Ben Virant who posted an 80, followed by JT McKibben with an 85. Joey Westerheide carded an 88. Ryan Norkin and Brock Izzo rounded out the team score with a pair of 95's. Keep working hard and staying positive and try and improve on that team score in the next event. Both the JV and Varsity Gold team will tee it up in the Celtic Challenge tomorrow!

The JV team had another good showing finishing 6th at the Celtic Challenge with a team score of 330. Play was led by Ben Virant with a 78 and JT McKibben posting a 79. Joey Westerheide carded an 84 and Keegan Heinlen rounded out the team score with an 89. Charles Ungurean began his season carding a 90. Great finish is a very strong field. Keep up the solid play!!

The JV team continues to edge closer to their first tournament win finishing runner-up at the Wellington Invitational at Rolling Meadows. Joey Westerheide posted a 75 and tied for medalist runner-up posting his first sub 80 round. Awesome job. Ben Virant continues to be consistent for the Celts carding a 78 his third consecutive sub 80 round. Great job Ben. JT McKibben followed with an 80 and Ryan Norkin finished with an 82 to round out the team score. Way to go boys!!!

Wellington Invitational Runner-Up

JV team had their match at Pinnacle CC cut short to a 9 hole match on 8/16. The team fired a score of 175 and fell a few shots short of UA and St. Charles. JT McKibben led the way with a 42. Keegan Heinlen and Joey Westerheide both posted 44's and Ben Virant rounded out the team score with a 45. Keep working hard boys!!!

The JV team gave UA a run for their money at Golf Club of Dublin firing a team score of 172. JT McKibben led the way with a 39, followed by Ben Virant with a 42. Joey Westerheide and Ryan Norkin finished up the team score with a 45 and 46. The JV team will see St. Charles at TCC on 8/25!

JV got the best of Olentangy Liberty posting a great team score of 162 to beat Liberty by 9 strokes. JT McKibben earned medalist honors with an even par 36, followed by Ben Virant posting a 39. Ryan Norkin contributed to the team score with a 42 and Keegan Heinlen rounded out the team score with a 45. Great win boys!!! JV will tee it up this Saturday 9/3/2016 for the Moeller Invitational at Hickory Woods GC. 

The JV team finished runner up at the Coffman Classic yesterday and also was awarded the most improved team trophy from their 14 shot improvement from day 1 to day 2. JT McKibben led the team with an 82, followed by Ben Virant with an 89. Ryan Norkin posted a 95 and Joey Westerheide and Charles Ungurean rounded out the team score with a pair of 95's. The first day at Royal American Links the team posted a 188 and followed it up day 2 at Clover Valley GC with a 174. Way to battle back and get runner up and most improved!!! 

Coffman Classic Runner-up and Most Improved!

The JV team finish 4th out of 20 teams at the Olentangy Invitational at Oakhaven on 9/17. The team posted a total score of 345 to finish a few strokes out of 3rd place. Ben Virant led the team with an 82, followed by JT McKibben who posted an 84. Ryan Norkin carded a strong 85 and the team score was rounded out by Joey Westerheide and Keegan Heinlen who both shot a pair of 94's. Strong 4th place showing gentleman!! The JV will tee it up tomorrow at Scioto CC!!

2015 Season Highlights

2015 State Runner-Up

The Celtics capped off a record breaking season finishing Runner-Up at the 2015 State Championship at OSU Scarlet on October 23 & 24. The Celtics fired a day two low score of 305 but the ralley fell short of St. Xavier and overcomming their 13 shot lead that they carried into day 2 from day 1. The Celtics still have a great deal to celebrate breaking two Jerome School records. First the team low tournament score of 8 under par as a team at Pinnacle CC for the UA Invitational. The previous record was 5 under par as a team. The second record is the season record of 283-4, which is the best season record on file at Jerome. All 5 players earned numerous honors for the season. Cam Root earned 1st team All-OCC, 2nd team All-District, 1st team All-Ohio, and was Jerome athlete of the week. Adam Stephens earned 1st team All-OCC, 2nd team All-District, 2nd team All-Ohio, and was the Dispatch athlete of the week. Cam Solomon earned 2nd team All-OCC and 2nd team All-District honors. Grant Lewis also earned 2nd team All-OCC and 2nd team All-District honors. Jack Herceg rounds out the team earning 1st team All-OCC, 1st team All-District, and JJ Huddle athlete of the week honors. Awesome season gentlemen!!!! It is good to be a CELTIC!!!!

Thank you to all the current players, current parents, alumni players, and alumni parents who came out to Scarlet to cheer on the boys, I know it made a huge difference for the guys!!!! The work for the 2016 season begins now, it will be a difficult task to fill the shows of our seniors who are graduating!! Let's continue to work hard, and stay positive and GO CELTS!!!!
